Going away for 2 periods of 5 months has its challenges! For s couple of weeks people have been asking us whether we’re all packed yet. The reality is that because we travel so much we don’t tend to pack until the day we leave. So it will be tomorrow morning that we will seriously start fillling those suitcases.
However there has been a lot to do to prepare; especially with a young couple coming into the house to be here while we are away. But we think we are just about there.
We are going to Cape Town at the invitation of the Elders there, but that invitation came a number of months ago as we were thinking about some other options. I happened to be attending a regional meeting in Newcastle when Ian Galloway spoke over me that he felt I was facing a choice and that I needed to make the more courageous choice. Immediately Phil Wilthew addressed me by saying that he believed that I still had another country in me - though he didn’t know which one! None of this made sense until a couple of weeks later Stephen van Rhyn rang with the news that the Elders at Jubilee in Cape Town would like me to join them for a year. So here we are ready to go.
